Introduction
This role will be member of the PMT (Project Management Team), responsible for static equipment on the PBAT Plant project located in Hai Phong, Vietnam. PMC experience as Client facing Leads as Mechanical Engineer in chemical and petrochemical projects is a critical requirement.
Job Duties
- Development of specifications & standards, along with concept development work;
- Development of tendering documents and scope of work documents for project;
- Evaluation and scoring of tenders from engineering or construction contractors;
- Review of EPC Contractor and vendor deliverables for conformance with contractual requirements, project specifications and international standards;
- General work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of specifications and procedures, pro-active management of EPC contractors and vendor technical interfaces, leadership in resolution of scope changes and deviations, and coordination with other disciplines;
- Duties may also include reviewing client procedures, developing project, group and corporate working procedures and technical standards, staffing, forecasting, participating in the development of project schedules, maintaining completion of mechanical deliverables on schedule and change management.
Job Skills and Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or Masters degree in engineering with minimum five (5) years’ experience as Control & Instrumentation engineer and solid knowledge of chemical and petrochemical developments;
- Professional English with strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent understanding of chemical and petrochemical projects, including relevant equipment, operations and services in Vietnam and overseas;
- The capability to be a technical focal point for mechanical related design issues and engineering quality control;
- Familiarity with mechanical and packaged equipment engineering with a specialty in pressure vessels, reactors, columns & heat exchangers is vital;
- A strong background in utility and offsite units;
- Software knowledge should include Microsoft Office applications. Understanding of mechanical equipment design software is also required;
- Sound knowledge of Pressure Equipment industry codes and standards;
- Ability to work and interface with other disciplines, client, contractor and technology licensors;
- Minimum of one (1) year direct field experience;
- Must be willing to travel and relocate to project site.
